The Montenegrins failed to reach the semi-finals, but they can be satisfied with their complete season.

Proud Buducnost

The semi-final dreams of Buducnost, for the first time since 2002, have vanished. Oltchim were too strong on Sunday in Valcea (31:22) and the young Montenegrin team will have to wait for the next opportunity.

Radicevic knows that they did everything they could this yearThe Montenegrin talent, Jovanka Radicevic, talks about the missed opportunity.

“This was one of the biggest defeats for this team. We tried everything, but Oltchim proved to be a very strong team with great players for every position. I hope we will recover from this defeat and try to beat Krim in the last game to finish third in the group.

“That would be a very good result for our young team. I just hope that our fans will come to Moraca hall in big numbers to help us finish the European season with a victory.

“Anyway, I think that taking a place among the best eight teams was a great success for us. We must keep going on, we have to continue working hard to reach even further in the CL,” Radicevic, right winger of Buducnost, told Eurohandball.com.

Buducnost had big problems in attack against Oltchim, scoring only 22 goals. This was the lowest tally together with the FCK game this season, but that game ended in a draw. Buducnost Gyula Zsiga was realistic about the defeat:

“The better team won in Romania. We didn’t play like we could and should have, we were always late on balls, while Oltchim played on their top level.

“None of my players performed well. If Bulatovic was the best player in the game in Podgorica, the best in Valcea was definitively the home goalkeeper Luminita Dinu. Obviously, we didn’t have the strength and experience to win in Valcea,” the coach added.
