Not over yetHypo started the game with an open defence and with goals from their Hungarian players. The quick Hypo attacks were impossible to stop at the beginning and the Austrian team proved how well their players know each other on the court. The guest Győri ETO always made a mistake when they could have a chance to come closer and Hypo took a 10-6 lead. However, the Hypo players could not continue on this high speed and Győr came back to 10-8 by the 21st minute. The Hungarian defence improved towards the end of the first half and it was only 15-13 at half time. Győr could have come even closer, but Pálinger and Spiridon made bad passes. Hypo started with an open defence after the break and they made it 18-14 in the early minutes of the second half. A rather chaotic period followed and Hornyák scored to make it minus one a few minutes later. The defence of Győr improved and the young Kovacsics equalised. Mravíková even gave the lead for the guests in the 41st minute for the first time (19-20). Hypo coach András Németh called a time out and it helped: Nascimento showed her class once again and her goals made it 24-22 for the hosts. Győr had the power to get back into the lead once again (24-25) and the game was open until the last seconds. Tímea Tóth scored at 25-25, which turned out to be the winning goal. Hypo can take a one-goal lead to the return game in Győr. TEXT: Judit Juhász (handball.hu) |
