Fight until the end

Daniela Piedade is confident before the Győr game. The Brazilian star believes in a victory.

Fight until the end

Hypo Niederösterrecih are playing their third CL semi-final in a row. Last season the Austrian team made it to the Final and this season the expectations are as high as usual.

Hypo won the first semi-final against Győr by one goal. The Brazilian line player of Hypo, Daniela Piedade, tells us what it means for the return game...

Eurohandball.com: The one-goal Hypo victory seems to be a better result for Győr…

Piedade is satisfied with the one-goal lead so farDaniela Piedade: This is not a bad result! I remember games when we won by many goals at home and then we lost by even more goals away. In such a case you may just lay back and not take it seriously enough. This will be different now. There will be pressure on us and we will have to fight until the end of the game.

Eurohandball.com: What was your experience from the first game?

Daniela Piedade: We started well, but the last 20 minutes weren’t good. In fact, our attack did not function and nothing went according the plans.

Our defence was at least good; the 25 goals received are not so bad.

Eurohandball.com: The expectations are always high from Hypo. Do you feel the tension?

Daniela Piedade: Yes, but it was more last week before the home game. We want to play the Final and it is always obligatory to win at home. And we actually won.

Eurohandball.com: There will be great atmosphere at the game on Sunday…

Daniela Piedade: 200 Győr fans were loud enough in Südstadt and there will be much more this time. However, we will also have about 180 fans travelling with us and they will support us.

Eurohandball.com: What do you expect from yourself?

Daniela Piedade: I really wanted to help last weekend, but I made too many mistakes. I have to remain calm and then I can perform better. I was not satisfied with my performance, but I hope that I can improve together with my team mates and then we can win.
