Coming up: Lövgren’s farewell on 8 August

The iconic world class Swedish handballer, Stefan Lövgren, has decided to close his extremely rich handball career at the end of the past season. The World and European Champion playmaker was a prominent player of THW Kiel for 10 seasons and the German club will honour his contribution by organising a farewell event for their former captain.

Lövgren will say goodbye to the fans on SaturdayThe programme of the show event on Saturday, 8 August 2009 in Kiel will bring on court a number of handball legends. An exhibition game between a veteran World Selection and the THW Kiel “old boys” will open the programme.

The highlight of the event will be a game between the new THW Kiel team for the 2009/10 season facing a selection of former and current handball stars.

Legends and star players such as Wislander, Stefansson, Kretzschmar, Tuchkin, Christiansen, Nagy and Karabatic will step on court to celebrate Lövgren once again.

Programme of the event

The celebration of Stefan Lövgren will begin on Saturday at 16:30 local time. The first of the gala games, THW Kiel Old Stars vs World Selection Old Stars, will begin at 16:55. The second game, THW Kiel vs World Selection will throw-off at 18:00hrs.

Watch it live on TV and on the net!

The entire event will be streamed live on the web platform ehfTV.com. In addition, Eurosport 2 will broadcast the chief act live from 18:00hrs. Eurosport Germany will show a 75-minute highlight programme starting at 19:45hrs.

TV production
