Viborg testing Croation keeper

Coach Vestergaard is satisfied with Katarina Bralo.

Viborg testing Croatian keeper

While the transfer of the Podravka Vegeta playmaker, Miranda Tatari, did not become a reality, the Champions League winners are testing another Croation player.

The 21-year old goalkeeper, Katarina Bralo, is currently on trial at the Danish top club. As Eurohandball.com reported earlier, the substitute keeper Louise Bage Due is pregnant and the third keeper, the young Sandra Mittet, picked up an apparently serious knee injury. Viborg need a back-up for the Norwegian Katrine Lunde Haraldsen in the goal.

So far Katarina Bralo, who played for German Bundesliga club Thüringer HC, impressed the head coach Jakob Vestergard at a test match against Norwegian Nordstrand. Viborg won 36-22 and Bralo played a bit more than 30 minutes. This was enough for her to convince Vestergaard that she is worth signing.

Close to a contract

“Her style is very explosive and she is particularly strong against the shots from close range. I hope that paper work can be done really fast,” Jakob Vestergaard said. The coach can be pleased that the injury list of his squad is shorter now. The Norwegian playmaker Kristine Lunde-Borgersen and Hungarian right winger Monica Kovacsicz were both able to play against Nordstrand.

Viborg will start the Danish league season on the coming Wednesday, September 2nd, away against Randers HK.
