Dinamo Minsk: young club in the CL

The champions of Belarus are undoubtedly the youngest CL debutants in history. The club, Dinamo Minsk, was founded in June 2008. It did not take long for them to win the Belarus national championship, the Baltic league and they also reached the Belarus Cup Final.

Mikhail Mayeuski is the general director of the club, while the head coach is Alexander Malinovski.

In the preparation period Dinamo played 13 test matches with remarkable statistics – 10 victories, 1 draw and 2 defeats. They managed to defeat two CL teams, Chekovskie Medvedi and Zaporozhye.

Maretić, Onufrienko and Libergs

The Belarusian team signed three new players for the CL challenges. The Croatian left back Mario Maretić came from Teramo, the Ukrainian international playing in back position, Sergei Onufrienko, arrived from Zaporozhye and the Latvian goalkeeper Martins Libergs from Germany.

Dinamo Minsk will play CL qualifications in Skopje. Their opponents will be Montenegrin Budućnost, Turkish Besiktas and FYR Macedonian Vardar.
