Optomistic FCK

FCK Håndbold are calm before travelling to the Ukraine for the CL qualification. FCK will meet the host HC “Smart”, Hungarian FTC and Swiss HC Brühl.

Norwegian top player Riegelhuth joined FCK this summerThe 29-year old line player and defence specialist, Mette Melgaard, has significant past in the CL: she won three titles with Slagelse in 2004, 2005 and 2007. She’s been playing for FCK since last summer. Melgaard, is very optimistic before the qualification matches.

Eurohandball.com: You play for the Danish national team, in the Champions League with your club and you also top the Danish league… How can you cope physically with all these challenges at the same time?

Mette Melgaard: Only time can tell, but hope it will be no problem. You always have to listen to your body, but right now I feel I can manage it.

Eurohandball.com: You visit Ukraine this weekend…

Mette Melgaard: I think we will win that group. We should be able to win all three matches and I believe we will do so.

Eurohandball.com: Can you reach more than last season in the CL if you qualify?

Mette Megaard: We have to improve a lot respect to that. I think we have a much better team this year. We have to make our team work well together, but I believe that we can get further than last year.

Eurohandball.com: How far do you think you can get in the tournament?

Metter Melgaard: I think we can go all the way. It will depend on injuries and other similar factors as well, but I think our team has the basis to reach far.

Eurohandball.com: Can FCK repeat Viborg’s achievement of winning “the big triple” (CL, Danish championship and Danish Cup)?

Mette Melgaard: That would be great fun. I can only speak for myself, but that is definitely my great object for the season. I think it was really great what Viborg did this last season and I would like to do the same with FCK.
