No easy matches

Kiel's Igor Anić warns: Ademar must not be underestimated.

No easy matches

The French international of Croatian origins talks to Eurohandball.com. Anić talks about the excellent atmosphere in Kiel before the first match in the 2009/2010 CL season.

The 22-year old line player arrived in Kiel from Montpellier in 2007. He quickly gained the confidence of coach Alfred Gislasson getting more and more time on court.

Eurohandball.com: What is it like in Kiel right before the start of the new season?

Sparkassen Arena will be full againIgor Anić: Everything is excellent, we started the season well. We are getting better and better with every match and the new players are slowly getting used to the team. And the most important thing: we have excellent relationship with each other.

I think we are stronger than last season; we were strengthened by Narciss and Ilić and we will be very dangerous team this season.

Eurohandball.com: Are you satisfied with the time you spend on court?

Igor Anić: I get more and more time to play every season. The coach has confidence in me and he gives me more and more time to play. I'm very satisfied with that.

Eurohandball.com: What do you think about Group D? Barcelona and Ademar Leon seem to be the only teams threatening Kiel?

Igor Anić: Group D is perhaps not the strongest, but sure not the weakest one. Kiel and Barcelona are the biggest clubs and there is also Leon who can be very dangerous. Barcelona showed against Ciudad Real already that they can do big things this season.

Eurohandball.com: You will open the CL season at home against Ademar Leon. They suffered a surprise defeat from Granollers in Spain. Does it mean you will have an easy job on Sunday?

Igor Anić: Leon are good team, great players, they can defeat any team at home. They also have great fans. Maybe the Spanish team does not play in top form at the moment, but we should not count on that. It's not a secret that every team playing against Kiel have additional motivation. This means that for us there are no easy matches: every match is dangerous and difficult. So will be the match against Ademar Leon.
