Kolding remain spotless

After the Saturday’s games of matchday 2, KIF Kolding remain spotless likeCiudad Real and Zagreb. The Danish champion beat Zurich clearly. In the two other matches Szeged (against PAOK) and Leon(against Skopje) took their first victories in this season, but for the Hungarians it was hard work to win against the sensational strong Greek champion.

Group A:

Pick Szeged – PAOK Thessaloniki27:24 (15:13)

Szeged took the lead in group A with three points, as Montpellier lost surprisingly in Constanta on Thursday. But the Hungarians had to struggle hard, until this close victory against the Greek champion was perfect. Thanks to goalkeeper Dragan Marjanac, Szeged avoided a big failure. Even as the final result is very close, PAOK was leading only once in this match, at the score of 2:1. Szeged played weak, but was leading 15:13 at the break. The 2000 spectators expected a better performance in halftime two, but the team disappointed the fans. Szeged extended the lead to 22:17, but in the end it was Marjanac, who secured this victory for his team.

Group D

KIF Kolding – Amicitia Zurich 35:27 (17:13)

Kolding has reached the optimum after two matchdays with 4 points, took the lead in group D and is in a good run for their objective, the round of the last 16. But either Kiel or Barcelona can shake their throne in their direct encounter on Sunday. The Danish champion aside took revenge on being eliminated by Zurich in the last season in the cupwinners cup eight final. At the break, the result was still close, but like last week in the match against Barcelona, Zurich lacked power in the second halftime and was defeated very clearly.Kolding is enjoying the next match now, as they play against the Danish stars Mikkel Hansen, Joachim Boldsen and Kasper Noddesbö of FC Barcelona in the famous “Palau Blaugrana”in the Catalonian capitol

Ademar Leon –Vardar Skopje 37:28 (17:13)

The “game of the defeatedof matchday 1” became a clear successfor the Spanish winner of the wild card tournament. The closest distance to the Macedonians, that had started with a home defeat against Kolding, was two goals in halftime one. After the break, Skopje didn’t have the climpse of a chance against Leon, that was defeated closely last week by THW Kiel. As Leon took two important points on their way to the round of the last 16, Vardar is still waiting for the first success. Best player was Leon’s Slowakian international Martin Stranowsky with ten goals, the same number as Borko Djordjevic, the topscorer of Skopje. The coach of the Macedonians, Branislav Angelovski, was suspended to leave the bench in the final stage of the match.
