Popovic returned with a defeatBojana Popovic is back on the handball court! The elegant Montenegrin backcourt player, who suffered a knee ligament injury at one of the Champions League matches in Vienna back in February, made a remarkably quick comeback. The CL winner Viborg played a Danish league game on Saturday against Aalborg DH. In addition to Bojana Popovic, Viborg were also reinforced by the Swedish playmaker and international Johanna Ahlm, who arrived on loan from Aalborg for the rest of this season as eurohandball.com reported earlier. Even though Ahlm scored 8 goals at her debut and Popovic scored 6 at her comeback game, it did not help Viborg much. Aalborg won the match 34-30. This was already the third defeat this season for Viborg, who went through the entire league season last year without a single defeat! Aalborg, on their side, could celebrate the first win in the domestic league this season! “Bojana and Johanna did very well, but we cannot expect them to come and solve all our problems. It is frustrating that we do not fight more or work harder,” said another Viborg key player, Rikke Skov, who celebrated her 200th league match in a rather sad mood. TEXT: Peter Bruun |
