Franić in MetzAfter the recently surfaced financial problems of Krim Mercator, the Slovenian club was forced to offer new contracts to their players with changed conditions. Apparently Kristina Franić will leave Ljubljana. The French champion reacted quickly and few days ago Thierry Weizman, President of Metz, announced a 2-year contract with the Croatian back player. Injuries of Vesna Horaček and Hélène François gave lot of headache to Coach Bertrand François. So Franić arrived just in time. Since she can play on all three back positions, it will be great help for Metz backcourt just before start of CL. 22-year old Franić is satisfied with the transfer: “Metz have good reputation in Europe. They are serious club and I will do my best to adapt soon as possible.“ Irony of Franić transfer is that first CL match of Metz this season will be against Krim Mercator – on 24th of October.
