Lions sign Danish winger

Rhein-Neckar Löwen have signed 28-year old Danish right winger, Thomas Bruhn, for the rest of this season. Thomas Bruhn, who will join the German Lions with immediate effect, arrives from AG Håndbold, current number one of the second division of Denmark.

In spite of the previous career of the 1.92m tall Bruhn, Löwen manager Torsten Storm has great expectations from the Dane. He will be a replacement for the Greek international Alexandros Alvanos signed by TuS N-Lübbecke.

“Thomas Bruhn will be the right winger together with Patrick Groetzki and I'm happy that our close cooperation with AG Handball pays off now,” Torsten Storm said.

The formalised cooperation between Rhein-Neckar Löwen and AG Håndbold was made possible by the Danish sponsor of Löwen, Jesper Nielsen, who is also main sponsor and board member of the Danish club.

“Thomas is one out of many talented wingers from the Danish handball school, which is particularly famous for producing fast, elegant and efficient wingers. I'm sure Thomas Bruhn will surprise all in a positive way,” Jesper Nielsen said about the transaction.

The Danish player can take part in the Champions League only from February according to the competition regulations.
