Must-win game for SzegedPick Szeged are playing the sixth season in the EHF Champions League and this may be the most difficult one for the Hungarian club. The local fans can see really tough competition in Group A for the first four places against teams such as Chekhovskie, Montpellier, Valladolid and Constanta. Good news for Szeged is the return of their top player, Danijel Andjelkovic. The Serbian playmaker’s best days in the CL were two seasons ago when he scored 63 goals and led his team to the Main Round. Andjelkovic will be back after a long injury this weekend against Montpellier for a game that will be of key importance for Szeged. The condition of Krivokapic is still to be seen before the game – his ankle needs to get fit until the game. Positive thinkingThe team is optimistic before the match. Goalkeeper Szilveszter Liszkai is especially perpared from the French players. ”We have been watching their DVDs day and night,” he said. The talented goalkeeper is not afraid of the task ahead. ”All teams are beatable, which is true about the French side too. We were equal to them in Montpellier, but unfortunately we missed scoring opportunities. We will have our chance again with a more precise performance.” Liszkai also expects the Szeged supporters to give them the necessary support for such an important game. “We need the atmosphere we had in Szeged before. European teams know how difficult it is to play in this arena. I can also promise that we will give all we have for the victory,” he said. However, the atmosphere will not only be especially hot, also fair – according to the Hungarians. The Montpellier fans showed a perfect example of fair play last weekend when they welcomed the Szeged team and fans with a big applause. Now it’s up to the Hungarian fans to return the nice gesture.
