Challenge Trophy Final coming up

Georgia versus Finland in the 2009/10 IHF/EHF Men's Challenge Trophy Final.The 2009/10 IHF/EHF Men's Challenge Trophy is an international handball competition for emerging nations. This year the third edition of this tournament was played, consisting of two groups, Group G1 being based in Moldova and Group G2 based in Malta. In both groups 4 teams were playing each other once in a round robin format with the winners of the group stages facing each other in the Final.

On 1 November 2009 the teams of Georgia and Finland won their Group Matches and qualified for the Final of the Men's Challenge Trophy.

Ten weeks later the teams are now ready for the big match, which is to be carried out during the EHF EURO 2010.

The match between the team from the Caucasus and the Scandinavians is set in Linz, the venue of EHF EURO 2010 Group B, on 23 january 2010 at 15:30 hrs.

The winner of this match will take part in the IHF Intercontinental Challenge Trophy to be played at the end of this year, where they will meet teams from other Continental Federations.
