"We must be good even without Görbicz"

Győr coach Csaba Konkoly expects a tough challenge in Leipzig.

"We must be good even without Görbicz"

When Győri Audi ETO KC will visit HC Leipzig on Sunday, they plan to steal two points from Leipzig’s home court. The coach of the Hungarians, Csaba Konkoly talked to eurohandball.com about their chances.

"I find that all teams in our group are strong, even Leipzig despite they don’t have any points. They lost their match against Larvik in the last 2 minutes, and they led against Krim since the 40th minute. Considering this we are about to play against a really dangerous team, which builds upon its strong and determined defence," Konkoly said.

He also was impressed by the player quality: "Their goalkeeper, Katja Schülke, is in excellent form, and most of their players are ex or current national team members: Kudlacz, Ommundsen, Urne, Müller, Ulbricht, Rösler, Eriksson, Wirén, Holmgren - just like in our team."

The Győr coach went on to tell that they wanted to win in Leipzig by all means in order to take the first or at least second place in Group 1 and thus securing the ticket to the semi-finals.

A hard job in Germany can be expected because playmaker Anita Görbicz injured her knee this week and cannot play. Also Zsuzsanna Tomori will not travel to Germany with the team after her operation.

"We must be good even without Görbicz. The team has already proved their skills. I don’t say this against Anita, but I praise our team’s structure," a confident Konkoly continued.

Győr won a tough Hungarian League match on the road against Békéscsaba this week. They know they still have to speed up and fasten their defence to reach Champions League level.
