"There is no pressure"

All eyes have been focused on Leipzig in the last two weeks. Krim Mercator is aware of what a difficult match is awaiting them in the fourth round.

Already in her first season young Slovenian international Ana Gros plays an important role in the present and for the future of Krim Mercator. The 19 year old left-handed player hopes to qualify for Champions League’s semis.
eurohandball.com talked to the young star about upcoming challenges.

eurohandball.com: How did you spend the two weeks since your last match, when you lost against Larvik?

Ana Gros: We watched this matches few times and saw which mistakes we made. Our game play was far below the level we are capable to show. We have worked on eliminating these mistakes in our trainings and hope to show a different performance against Leipzig.

eurohandball.com: The match against Leipzig will be decisive if you still want to stay in the race to the semi-final. Do you feel any pressure?

Ana Gros: No, not really. Of course, we are waiting anxiously for the clash against the Germans because we want to show that we had only a bad day against Larvik. We know what we are capable of. Leipzig is a tough opponent that is difficult to defeat and our six goal victory in Ljubljana in the first match does not mean anything.

eurohandball.com: After Krim played a superb Preliminary Round public expectations rose. Do you think they rose too high?

Ana Gros: No, and we did show some great performances. As a fact we also have a goal, we want to reach the semi-final. I believe we still have the opportunity to make our dreams come true. But only if we play as we are capable of.

eurohandball.com: This is your first season in Krim Mercator. Was it the right decision to transfer to Krim?

Ana Gros: For sure, I am very happy to be here and to have such training, to play with such a team and to work with these coaches. I still have a lot to learn and improve.

eurohandball.com: Who gives you the best advice?

Ana Gros: I must say I relay the most on Andrea Lekić's advices. She is playmaker and we communicate all the time. She gives me a lot of information. Of course, there is also coach Marta Bon as well as the experienced players in the club.
