O’Callaghan to be honoured

Ceremony for the Barcelona legend planned.

O’Callaghan to be honoured

The upcoming quarter-final clash between the FC Barcelona Borges and the Hungarian champions Veszprém will feature something special. The Catalonian club is planning an honouring act to render homage to the successful professional career of former player Xavier O’Callaghan.

At that occasion Barcelona will retire O’Callaghan’s match jersey with the number four. The former Spanish international played 19 seasons for Barcelona. Nowadays he is working in the management structure of the club.

As "Oca" was one of the most successful players, his shirt will be hung up in the home arena Palau Blau Grana, between other historic shirts from players like Urdangarin, Masip or Grau.

During his career in the Dream Team of Valero Rivera, Xavier O’Callaghan won the Champions League seven times and eight Spanish League titles.
