Ahlm stays in Viborg

Swedish international Johanna Ahlm is going to stay with Viborg HK until the summer of 2013, after having signed a three year contract with the ruling Champions League winners and Danish champions.

The 22 year old playmaker joined Viborg in the early autumn of 2009 on loan from league colleagues Aalborg DH, but she has now been laid off by Aalborg and was thereby free to sign the contract with Viborg.

"I am really happy to have my future settled in Viborg for the next three years. Ever since I was a kid, I have been dreaming of playing in the best and greatest club in the world, and now I am here," Johanna Ahlm said.

The middle back is currently injured, but is expected to be back at full fitness from the start of next season.

"I feel very well in Viborg, and I really could not imagine playing anywhere else. I have had a pretty frustrating season with a great many injuries, but I hope to be able to add something to the team from next season," Ahlm added.

Could be among the best in the world

Viborg’s head coach Jakob Vestergaard has high expectations in Johanna Ahlm’s future. "Johanna is fantastic in fast breaks, she is good at adding speed to the attacking play, and at the same time she becomes a better and better defender. Actually, I think Johanna has the potential of becoming one of the best playmakers in the world. She is not there yet, but she has a lot of potential, and next season she will really get the opportunity to show what she contribute with, as she will be us from the start of our season preparations," Jakob Vestergaard said.
