Guardiola reinforces Ciudad

Guardiola reinforces Ciudad

Isaias Guardiola is EHF Champions League finalist BM Ciudad Real’s first transfer this summer. The Spanish right back has signed for the next five years. He will replace the former Argentinean national team player Eric Gull who has left the club, despite them being very different players on the same position.

Isaias is happy over this move. "Ciudad Real is the most important club in the world. When they called me I thought that it was a joke. I still cannot believe that I am playing at the best club. Over all the years working hard this has been my objective," the new player of Renovalia Energy Ciudad Real explained.

Guardiola then described his characteristics: "I believe that I am a complete player. I can help the team both in defence and in attack. I am hoping that I will get some time to adapt to the new club and finally end up to be an important player for the Coach."

Ciudad’s coaches believe that the 25 year old right back has a great development potential.

The Spanish top club is looking for more reinforcements, and there are rumours in Spain connecting San Antonio’s Polish player Marius Jurkiewicz with Ciudad Real.

Evdokimov with knee injury

Egor Evdokimov had a bad season finish. He was neither able to play at the EHF FINAL4 in Cologne nor at the Super Globe due to problems in his right knee.

Evdokimov has had these problems for some time and has undergone surgery. The Russian line player is now hoping to be in form for the upcoming preseason. Doctors are optimistic that the Russian player will be ready until August and will be able to participate in the preparations for the new season with his team.

He will be in Spain for initial recovering over the next ten days, after that he will travel home to Russia.
