US television deal for VELUX EHF Men’s Champions League
EHF Marketing GmbH has signed a new deal in the United States, which will see the VELUX EHF Men’s Champions League aired to over 33 million homes.
MHz Networks has entered into an agreement for the 2010/2011 season to show the “Match of the Week” from Europe’s premier club handball competition on their national MHz Worldview channel, with full commentary from the face and voice of ehfTV.com, Tom O’Brannagain.
The deal will include coverage of the biggest handball event of the season, the VELUX EHF FINAL4, to be played in Cologne, Germany on 28 and 29 May 2011.
Managing Director of EHF Marketing GmbH, Peter Vargo, said: “We are delighted to be able to sign a TV agreement in the United States, which will enable us to showcase the high-scoring excitement of handball to this major market. We’re sure that the American viewing public will love watching the stars of the sport playing in the VELUX EHF Men’s Champions League.”

MHz Networks will show VELUX EHF Champions League matches at 4.00 PM ET on Saturdays and Sundays during the season. Coverage will begin immediately with the top clash of the third round between MKB Veszprem of Hungary and French side Montpellier Agglomeration HB to be shown on Saturday 9 October.
