Crucial game against ex-team

Ana Gros, the young star of Győri AUDI ETO will play against her ex-team Krim this weekend. The 19 year old has scored 13 goals in two CL matches, and is determined to maintain her strike rate.

ehfCL.com: You moved to Győr this season. How do you feel living there and what are your first impressions about the club?

Ana Gros: The team is excellent and I feel great here. I like the place, the people, and everything. I still have a little problem with the language, but it will get better with time.

ehfCL.com: What do you think about the Hungarian Championship?

Ana Gros: The Hungarian Championship is a very powerful league. I like it because we have many strong matches, and this is great for me and for the entire team. At this point, we’ve won all of our league matches, but there are still many more to be played.

ehfCL.com: You started very well in this CL season, scoring 13 goals in two matches. What are your personal objectives for this season and the objectives of the club?

Ana Gros: First of all we have to reach the main round of the CL. We’re in a strong group and it will be difficult, but we can do it. Then anything is possible. It would be great to play in the CL finals. Regarding domestic competitions, our goal is to take both trophies, of course.

ehfCL.com: In the first match you were defeated by Zvezda, and in the second, you defeated Podravka. What do you think about your team’s performance in those matches?

Ana Gros: Both were very tough matches. In both, we didn’t play as we’d planned. We can do much better, especially in defence, and I’m convinced we’ll prove this in the next match. Zvezda and Podravka have proved they are good teams and Podravka will be very strong at home.

ehfCL.com: Your next opponent is your ex-team Krim - the only undefeated team in Group D. How do you see the chances?

Ana Gros: Well, Krim has a really good team this season. They have an excellent back line and it will be a very difficult task for us in Ljubljana. Despite that, I’m convinced we have good chance to win. To do that we need to play as well as we know we can, to play good defence, and certainly be much better than in the last two matches.
