Grubišić expects points in Russia

Jelena Grubišić is not shaken by Krim’s recent home defeat against Győri AUDI ETO. Just before travelling to Zvenigorod, the Croatian goalkeeper talks about an equal Group D, the good atmosphere in the team and a great desire for revenge.

ehfCL.com: This is your second season for Krim. Do you already feel like home in Ljubljana?

Jelena Grubišić: Indeed I feel like home already. Everything is fine, I am happy. The team is good so I am really enjoying being part of the Krim project.

ehfCL.com: After excellent start, Krim was defeated by Győr on home soil. Did you expect to win this match?

Jelena Grubišić: Both victories and defeats are part of the game. In the end, we congratulated to them because they deserved to win. They had studied us well and neutralized our game, which then again was not on the same level as in our first two matches.

ehfCL.com: Are you shaken now?

Jelena Grubišić: We are not shaken by this defeat, even though it was very hard to suffer a defeat in front of our fans. The atmosphere in the team is good; we have three more matches to play. As we only depend on ourselves and our own performance, we go for new victories.

ehfCL.com: Your next match against Zvezda on Sunday includes a hard long journey…

Jelena Grubišić: Yes, this will be very tough away match. We need these points and we need to prepare well for Zvezda.

ehfCL.com: What do you think about your EHF Champions League group after three matches played?

Jelena Grubišić: I think our group is really equal and nothing will be decided until the very end. Podravka does not have points at this moment, but surely they will give their best to get revenge for the defeat suffered in Koprivnica. We managed to win over Podravka in the first round because all home teams are little bit nervous on start. They played much better in their last matches, their level of play is rising and they will be tough opponent in future.

ehfCL.com: But probably toughest challenge will be Győr?

Jelena Grubišić: Exactly. Győr has excellent team every season. I think that we can not play much worse than we did in Ljubljana. We need to stop their shooters and their fast breaks. If we manage to play a more aggressive defence, everything will look much better. Of course, it will be the most difficult away match in this stage for us, but we will not give up. We want to take revenge for the defeat suffered in Ljubljana.

The EHF Women's Champions League match of Group A, Zvezda Zvenigorod (RUS) vs. RK Krim (SLO) on Sunday 7 November 2010 at 12:00 hrs (local time), will be broadcast live on our free-of-charge web stream on ehfTV.com.
