A little more than one year before the final tournament takes place between 3 and 18 December 2011 in Brazil, the Qualification Europe is taking place between 30 November and 5 December 2010.

From these 11 places, three are reserved for the best three teams at the EHF EURO 2010 (7 - 19 December) in Denmark and Norway, excluding Russia. The remaining European places at the final tournament – altogether 8 – will be decided via Qualification Europe.
