Four reinforcements in Krim

Krim Mercator, Slovenian representatives in the EHF Champions League, will start operation Main Round on Friday. They underline their ambitions to reach at least the semi-finals this year by having four new players in their squad – three Slovenians and one Swiss.

Krim Mercator’s coach Marta Bon explains: "After the first part of the EHF Champions League we decided to refresh our team a little. We were not looking for a big reinforcement but for a couple of new players, who would activate us for the second part of our European season."

So the Slovenian champions transferred Swiss pivot Arianne Geissmann from AGF (DEN) on a half year contract. Additionally they signed three players from their home town rival RK Olimpija Ljubljana.

The experienced player Vesna Puš, also captain of the Slovenian national team, joins the Krim backcourt together with Maja Šon. The latter is currently suffering from a difficult knee injury, but will be able to help the team from next season on the latest.

Third player coming from this year’s EHF Cup participant Olimpija is right wing Mirjana Gojković.

While four new players came, two players on the left back position left the club. Szandra Zacsik returned home and will play for FTC (HUN) in the national league as well as in the Cup Winner’s Cup, and Ana Kosmac went to RK Olimpija Ljubljana.

Krim Ljubljana’s Main Round opener against the Spanish champions from the town of Estella will be broadcast as a free-of-charge live web stream on ehfTV.com.
