Winning with 'Norwegian' styleAfter defeating Hungarian champions Audi ETO Győr, Larvik HK finished second in Main Round Group 2 and will meet the Montenegrin champions Budućnost Podgorica in the semi-finals, with the first match taking place in Norway. ehfCL.com spoke to coach Tor Odvar Moen, Karoline Dyhre Breivang, and Cecilie Leganger, after their top-class performance in Hungary. ehfCL.com: How would you analyze today’s match and the victory over Győr? Tor Odvar Moen: I’m happy that we could iron out the mistakes from the first match. We pressurized the Hungarians during the match and scored several goals on fast breaks. Today we won with the 'Norwegian' style. With our rock solid defence and quick counter attacks we took revenge for the defeat in Larvik. I believe the Hungarians looked up to the scoreboard several times when we were close to equalizing our direct encounter. But with their routine, they could close-up to finish first. I believe I’m correct in saying that this is the first-ever Larvik victory in Győr. It would be very nice to return to Hungary in May for the EHF Women’s Champions League Final. ehfCL.com: You will face the Montenegrin champions Budućnost in the semi-finals. What’s your opinion about the opponents? Karoline Dyhre Breivang: Honestly, I didn’t watch any games from the other group, as I’ve hardly used my PC for several weeks. Our focus was exclusively on our own group and I’m very happy that we defeated Győr in this return match. Cecilie Leganger: I was hoping to meet Spanish Itxako in the semi-finals, as in Maja Savić and in Bojana Popović I have very good friends in Budućnost. I would have preferred to play against them in the EHF Champions League final. ehfCL.com: Will it be of great importance that you’ll play the second leg match away in the feared Morača Sports Center in Podgorica? Karoline Dyhre Breivang: No, not really. As we have shown today, we are able to produce a top performance in away games in front of loud cheering and enthusiastic crowds.
