New head coach at Larvik HKLarvik HK, recent winners of the EHF Champions League, have presented their new head coach and chief of sports, Ole Gustav Gjekstad. It’s not the first time the 44 year-old has been named head coach of Larvik HK. The former national team player coached Larvik HK between 1998 and 2005 before moving to Drammen HK (Norwegian men’s league) for three seasons, after which he returned to Larvik. "I support the decision of the club 100%," Larvik’s Tonje Larsen said in a press release from the club. Larsen continues: "Ole is a perfectionist and very much into detail, detail that can be crucial for reaching the success we want to reach. His training practices have been very good and motivating, and he’s going to be a great leader for our sports team. We already look forward to next season." "I look forward to working with all parties involved in Larvik Handball Club. Of course, the main focus is to develop the team and individual players, and to help the club to realize its lofty goals. But both on and off the court, we have skilled staff and volunteers and the organization has never been stronger than it is now. It makes me confident that we have a good future ahead of us", said the new coach. TEXT: Márk Hegedüs |
