AG Kobenhavn shirts approved

The European Handball Federation has approved the playing shirts of AG Kobenhavn ahead of the first matches of the new VELUX EHF Champions League season.

EHF Head of Competitions, Markus Glaser, said: “Following positive and constructive discussions with officials from the AG Kobenhavn club, we have reached a compromise that fulfils the regulations for the VELUX EHF Champions League.”

The new design retains the unique look of the AG Kobenhavn vest with the addition of an attached white undershirt with sleeves showing the competition’s official logo, a requirement of participation in the competition.

Søren Colding, CEO of the Danish club, said: "We have developed a special edition of our traditional shirt for the Champions League. In cooperation with the EHF we have come up with a solution that maintains the unique look of our sleeveless shirts and at the same time meets all requirements. The new shirts have an additional performance base layer, which allows for both the addition of the competition logo, as well as keeping the players cool and dry when they play. The shirt will be presented in connection with our upcoming home game on Tuesday 13 September."

In their first season in the VELUX EHF Champions League, AG Kobenhavn will meet Montpellier Agglomeration HB, THW Kiel, Reale Ademar Leon, Pick Szeged and RK Partizan Beograd in Group D. The club’s first match is at the beginning of October against RK Partizan Beograd.
