Court of Handball decision fines the Greek club’s exiting of the Cup Winners' Cup.


E.S.N. Vrilissia (GRE) withdraws from European Cup participation

The EHF Court of Handball has made a decision in the case concerning the Greek club E.S.N. Vrilissia. The club is withdrawing from their European Cup participation.

The club were in Round 3 of the Men’s Cup Winners' Cup, where they were due to meet Lugi HF (SWE). This match will now not take place. Consequently, Lugi progresses to the next round.

The club E.S.N. Vrilissia is fined 10,000€ for withdrawing from the European Cup and is excluded to participate in any handball club competition organised or authorised by the EHF  for the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons.

The club has the right to address an appeal to the Court of Appeal within seven days.
