Metz victorious over RandersA dramatic encounter in the first half, but then Metz started their top-gear and have proved their strength by humiliating Randers. Group CMetz Handball (FRA) vs. Randers HK (DEN) 25:20 (12:12) The fully packed Metz Arena meant a great audience for this great game. The match was absolutely equal in the early phase, before Metz extended the gap to 9:7. Even when the French were in lead with the two goals margin Randers did not give up, showed a brilliant moral and turned the match with a determined performance to 10:9. The first half continued equal with the teams constantly changing leads. At half-time Metz and Randers were on eye level and both teams were playing on the same high level wishing victory in their group phase closer. The first part of the second half was the "crunch time", as Metz extended the margin pre-decisively to 20:15 thanks to marvelous goals by Allison Pineau and also Amandine Leynaud continued to impress between the sticks. Randers were unable to cut the hosts' lead, so the second half became a clear matter for the home side. After the 20:15 Metz had no problems to control the match and the opponent. After this clear victory, the chances for Metz remain alive to advance to the top 8, so the two Main Round clubs will be decided tomorrow when Győri Audi ETO will face Hypo in the group´s second duel of the weekend.
