Federation finedThe EHF Court of Handball has imposed a fine of €2,000 on the Italian Handball Federation relating to the standard of a floor during a Women's EHF EURO 2012 qualification match. The Italian Handball Federation was sanctioned because the floor of the playing hall in which they hosted the Women's EHF EURO Qualification 2 match ITA vs DEN (in Mestrino, on 23.10.11) had several sport lines additionally to handball lines. The EHF EURO Qualification regulations (article 23.6) state that competition matches shall be played on floors with handball lines only. The sanction is based on articles 6.1, 12.1, 14.1 of the EHF Legal Regulations and D.2 c) of the EHF List of Penalties. Identical infringements took place in 2010 with Austria, Germany and Iceland all sanctioned by the former EHF Arbitration Tribunal with identical sanctions. TEXT: |
