Rakcevic out for rest of season

A ligament injury will keep Mladen Rakcevic out of the game until at least the end of the season, leaving HC Metalurg with big problems in their remaining matches in the VELUX EHF Champions League.

On Saturday, Metalurg face Cimos Koper in Slovenia, and are left with only one line player, Vanco Dimovski.

Metalurg have already qualified for the Last 16, but are fighting to retain second place in Group C.

The player injured his knee on Tuesday in Nasice, Croatia where Metalurg played Nexe in the SEHA Regional league. Nexe won 29-27, the Macedonian's first SEHA defeat of the season.

Rakcevic said: "After medical examinations, doctors have confirmed that my ligaments are broken, and have to rest for at least six months. I'll have surgery in March, and hope to be prepared for next season."
