Karl Erik Bøhn looks ahead to Romanian clash

ehfCL.com caught up with Karl Erik Bøhn, coach of  Győri Audi ETO KC before this weekend and the EHF Women's Champions League semi-finals.

ehfCL.com: What is the condition of your injured players ahead of your EHF Women’s Champions League semi-final against C.S. Oltchim Rm. Valcea?

Karl Erik Bøhn: Fortunately all of our players are fit and can play in Valcea on Sunday (1 April). Orsolya Vérten has recovered from her injury she picked up in Larvik. Katrine Lunde Haraldsen's finger was injured with the Norwegian national team, but that has recovered. So both of them are training at the highest level and preparing for this very important match against Valcea.

ehfCL.com: How are you preparing for this match as the team has been apart following the international matches?

Karl Erik Bøhn: We played against Kiskunhalas in the Hungarian League this week and it was very clear in that match that we haven't been training together for nine days.

Moreover, some of our players arrived back quite tired in Győr after their international break, so we had to tone-up in the match.

We were under big pressure in the first half and we were losing 18-17 after it. In training on Wednesday and Thursday we were in a good mood and our girls were full of joy and energy and playing excellent handball. We'll have another training session on Friday (30 March) on our home court, and then we will travel to Romania later on.

ehfCL.com: What are your thoughts ahead of the clash against C.S. Oltchim Rm. Valcea?

Karl Erik Bøhn: We will face a very strong opponent, so the most important thing for my players is to concentrate on their own tasks and give 100%. If we perform better in all parts of the game than our opponents we won't fail – we can only win and reach the final.

The match is a clash between two quality teams and I guess the winner will be the team who can run more.

We are really looking forward to this match and are in excellent form. Everything is working perfectly in training and we hope that we can show this in the match, although I feel the excitement and stress will last until the final minute.
