Next trophy for THW KielIn one magic eight-day period THW Kiel qualified for the VELUX EHF FINAL4 in Cologne, took the German championship and won the German Cup. But after beating their old rival SG Flensburg-Handewitt 33:31 (15:15) in the German Cup final, their Swedish star Kim Andersson said: “We are not satisfied yet, we are still hungry for the VELUX EHF Champions League title.” In the semi-final Kiel had beaten HSV Hamburg 27:25 (15:13). Thanks to these victories THW kept a clean sheet in domestic competitions and extended their winning run to 33 straight victories on German ground in this season. Match winners in the cup final were Filip Jicha, Daniel Narcisse and Kim Andersson, who scored 25 of the 33 THW goals against SG Flensburg-Handewitt, currently second in the German Bundesliga. Whilst Narcisse was awarded Most Valuable Player of the Cup weekend, Jicha and Anders Eggert were top scorers with 16 goals each. TEXT: Björn Pazen |
