World Championship throws off in Czech RepublicThe Junior World Championship began in the Czech towns of Brno and Ostrava on Sunday 1 July. The event will run until Saturday, 14 July with 24 teams competing for the title. In Brno (group C and D) and Ostrava (group A and B), some of the best up-and-coming junior players from around the world will take to court to show the handball world what the future has in store for women’s handball. A total of 14 European teams will compete at this year’s tournament. The Czech Republic qualified directly as host and Denmark and the Netherland qualifying as winners and runners-up of the EHF Women’s 19 European Championship 2011 respectively.
