Sonja Barjaktarović signs for Rostov-DonAfter 11 years with the club Sonja Barjaktarović has decided to leave Budućnost. The Montenegrin goalkeeper has signed a one year contract with Russian outfit Rostov-Don. "Everybody in the club (Budućnost) has been great. I hope it will stay like this and that my departure from Montenegro will be a smooth one," said Barjaktarović. Barjaktarović will replace Inna Suslina, who made her way to Vardar Skopje in FYR Macedonia.
The Montenegrin in need of more court time However, that fact did not affect her playing form for national team and proved that during the qualification tournament in Lyon for the Olympic Games in London.
Barjaktarović aims to raise personal level
Beside all the domestic trophies during the 11 years of playing for Budućnost, Barjaktarović has won two trophies in the Cup Winners' Cup (2006, 2010), three regional leagues and finally the EHF Champions League title on 13 May of this year. Rostov-Don are former Russian Champions (1994), however, they lost to Dinamo Volgograd in the Champions League play-off final last season and will play in the qualification for EHF Champions League this season.
