Romero: "When I play for Atlético I want to win titles"“I am here to win titles,” stated an ambitious Ángel Romero. Romero has been introduced as a new line player for Atlético de Madrid for next three seasons. "I am very happy and I come eager to work hard and help the team to fight for titles," said Atlético Madrid’s new line player. Ángel Romero, who is 204 centimetres tall and 28 years old, comes to Atlético de Madrid from Cuatro Rayas Valladolid, on the back of a season in which he has made a name for himself as one of the most effective line players of Spanish league.
Hungry to learn and not intimidated by big names "I can play in the centre of defence, however, one needs time to work their way into this position, I have a lot to learn," said Romero. Romero will have to fight for a place in team with tough competiton from Julen Aginagalde and Edu Fernández. "Julen and Edu are two extraordinary players, however, competition is always a good thing," said Romero, who does not hide the fact that his move to Atlético is a very big step in his career.
Transfer turnover in Madrid Four players have left Atlético de Madrid this summer. Didier Dinart has made his way back to France and will play for Paris Handball, Alberto Entrerríos also makes the move to France but will play for HBC Nantes, Chema Rodríguez will wear the colours of Hungarian outfit MKB Veszprem and Isaias Guardiola moves north to Rhein-Neckar Löwen in Germany.
