Chekhovskie Medvedi will play in Group A of the VELUX EHF Champions League

Chekhovskie Medvedi is ready for the new season

Russian champion Chekhovskie Medvedi signed a new line player for the upcoming season.

Egor Evdokimov (30) comes from Dinamo Minsk but he already played for Chekhovskie in the 2008/09 season.

In 2009, he left Russia to play for BM Ciudad Real and participated in the VELUX EHF FINAL4 in 2010 and 2011 before he went to Belarus.

Now the Russian national player is back in Russia and ready for a new season in the VELUX EHF Champions League.

After three seasons in Chekhov, left back Andrey Starykh (28) is leaving the club for pastures new.

The team's captain, Vitaly Ivanov (36) has decided to finish his professional career.

From now on, he will be the head coach of Medvedi's second team, RGUFK - CM.

Last season, the Russian champion failed to qualify for the Last 16 of the VELUX EHF Champions League for the first time since 2005/06.

In the upcoming season, the coach Vladimir Maximov and his players face new challenges.

Chekhovskie Medvedi will play in Group A of the VELUX EHF Champions League.

In the Group Phase they have to face the French team from Montpellier, SG Flensburg-Handewitt from Germany, Spanish Reale Ademar Leon, the "Wild Card" winner  (HSV Hamburg, Saint Raphael, Orlen Wisla Plock or BSV Silkeborg) and the winner of Qualification Tournament 1 (RK Partizan Beograd, RK Sloga Doboj, RK Lovćen Cetinje or FC Porto).
