Injury rules out CleverlyDanish national team player and Vive Targi Kielce goalkeeper, Marcus Cleverly will be out for two months because of an injury to his hip joint. The 31-year-old will miss not only the match in Chekhov against St Petersburg HC but next five matches of this year´s schedule of the VELUX EHF Champions League too. He picked up a back injury during the Olympic Games in London this summer, but continued to play and took part in the Galeria Echo Kielce Cup 2012. However, after still experiencing pain during the tournament, further examinations revealed he has a gap in his backbone. Cleverly was also examined in Denmark, where it was confirmed he has a hip joint injury. "Cleverly will be unavailable during two months," said club director Radoslaw Wasiak. "The first phase of recovery will take place in Denmark under the eye of the national team physician. The most important thing for him is the time to recovery." TEXT: Maciej Firlej |
