Bjerringbro-Silkeborg are prepared for a tough clash with Metalurg

Bjerringbro-Silkeborg want more

Bjerringbro-Silkeborg will be aiming to double their current points tally when they take on HC Metalurg in the third match of their VELUX EHF Champions League on Sunday.

The Danish outfit gave their hopes of progressing to the Main Round a boost when they narrowly beat Chambéry Savoie 25:23 last weekend, and they want to continue their winning ways.

Like Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, Macedonian champions HC Metalurg won their most recent match, and the home side’s right back Nikolaj Øris Nielsen knows that it will be a tough match.

“It will be harder than our first home game against Chambéry,” he said. “HC Metalurg are a very strong team and plays with a lot of physique. We need to play fast and move our feet. If we manage to do that, we have a good chance.”

The Danish team has focused a lot on winning their home games. If they succeed in doing so, they have a chance to advance to the knock-out phase of the Champions League.

“We know how hard it is to win when we are playing away from home in the VELUX EHF Champions League,” added Nielsen. “That’s why we are very focused on the match against HC Metalurg this Sunday. If we can win, we will have 4 points after 3 games, and that would be very nice.”

The game will be played Sunday at 17.00 hrs in Arena Midt in Kjellerup.
