Men’s EHF Cup Round 3 draw seedings

The draw of the Men’s EHF Cup Round 3 is to take place at the EHF headquarters in Vienna on Tuesday, 23 October 2012 at 14:00 hrs (local time).

The new format Men's EHF Cup was launched at the beginning of the 2012/13 season. It is played with three qualification rounds, a group phase of four groups of four teams, quarter-finals and a Final Tournament with four teams playing semi-finals and finals over two days, 18/19 May 2013.

The first leg of Round 3 will be played 24/25 November and the second leg one week later. The Group Phase of four groups of four teams will start only after the World Championship in Spain – 9/10 February.

In total 32 teams vie for 16 tickets in Group Phase. There will be two pots for the draw with seeded teams in Pot 1 and unseeded teams in Pot 2. The teams from the same country will not be protected from being drawn against each other.

Draw procedure

One ball will be drawn from pot 1 and one from pot 2. From these two balls, one ball will be drawn and this team will play the first leg at home, the second team drawn will have the home match in the second leg.
