EHF EURO 2014 qualification matches live on regular TV as well as online on ehfTV

Four days full of handball

When the qualification for the EHF EURO 2014 throws off on Wednesday night (31 October), handball fans across Europe can rest assured that they will not miss a fraction of the action.

27 matches from Qualification Round 1 (31 Oct/1 Nov) and Round 2 (3/4 Nov) will be shown with 23 matches being broadcast by the host nation’s broadcaster and also by a second TV channel in the visiting team’s country.

In a new approach to extend the coverage of handball and make European national team matches available to a worldwide audience, the European Handball Federation will, for the first time, also stream seven qualification matches live via its online TV platform, ehfTV.com, on which a dedicated EHF National Teams Channel has been newly created.

These seven matches are as follows:

  • Poland vs. Netherlands on Wednesday, 31 October, at 18:00 hrs. CET
  • Serbia vs. Russia, 31 October, at 20:30 hrs. CET
  • FYR Macedonia vs Switzerland, 31 October, at 20:00 hrs. CET
  • Spain vs. Portugal on Thursday, 1 November, at 12:30 hrs. CET
  • Germany vs. Montenegro, 1 November, at 19:00 hrs. CET
  • Switzerland vs. Spain, 4 November, 16:00 hrs. CET
  • Israel vs. Germany, 4 November, 18:45 hrs. CET

All matches will be available permanently on demand afterwards. Geo-blocking might apply in certain markets.

A complete overview of the transmission times on regular TV including the respective TV channels and the throw-off times can be found in the TV Guide on EHF’s official website eurohandball.com.

All times on the TV Guide are local and the broadcast schedule is correct as of 31 October 2012. Handball fans are advised to check local TV listings in case of any changes or earlier broadcast times.

This is the second stage of the qualification for the Men’s EHF EURO 2014 in Denmark. The Men's European Championship is the EHF's flagship event and will take place in Denmark from 12 to 26 January 2014.

The remaining playing dates are:
Round 3: 3-4 April 2013
Round 4: 6-7 April 2013
Round 5: 12-13 June 2013
Round 6: 15-16 June 2013

The first and second ranked teams from each of the seven qualification groups qualify for the final tournament. The best third ranked team from all groups also qualifies, taking into account matches against first and second ranked teams.
