EHF Court of Handball decision in the case AG Copenhagen
The EHF Court of Handball has released a decision in the case regarding the withdrawal of AG Copenhagen from the VELUX EHF Champions League 2012/13.
The club registered to participate in the VELUX EHF Champions League 2012/13 and was drawn in Group C. However, in August 2012, due to financial difficulties leading to their bankruptcy, the Danish club withdrew from the competition.
Pursuant to articles 2.6 and 2.6.2 of the VELUX EHF Champions League 2012/2013 Regulations and article C.1 of the EHF List of Penalties, AG Copenhagen is fined 25,000 € for withdrawing from the VELUX EHF Champions League and is excluded from participating in any handball club competition organised or authorised by the EHF for the 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons.
Furthermore, the club shall pay the entry fees for the VELUX EHF Champions League 2012/13 Group Phase according to the Regulations as they registered for the competition.
The club has the right to appeal to the Court of Appeal within seven days.
