Grébille out for six weeks

Montpellier´s left back will miss all three remaining rounds of the VELUX EHF Champions League in 2012

Grébille out for six weeks

Mathieu Grébille, Montpellier left back, injured his knee in the French league game against Sélestat last Sunday. As a victim of a ligament sprain on his right knee, he will be out for six weeks, therefore he will be missing three VELUX EHF Champions League matches and five French league games.

It is a sad news for Montpellier, since Grébille was at the top of his form at the moment, being the team's leading scorer in the European top-flight with 28 goals.

It is the second major injury in Montpellier within a short period of time, with William Accambray being out for six weeks as well, due to a nose fracture.

Grébille enjoyed his first two caps with the French team ten days ago, in the EHF EURO 2014 qualification games against Lithuania and Turkey.

"I'm sad, because I was playing very well at the moment. Maybe this injury happened because I've played too much in the last few games, I don't know. I was feeling a bit tired lately, but I think this is just down to some bad luck.

I'll have to wait six weeks to be able to play normally again," Grébille said to the official website of his club www.montpellierhandball.fr.
