 Just like a dream
It was like a dream! Perhaps the biggest sensation of the season took place last weekend as the reigning champions from Kiel lost against young Celje team.
"I think nobody believed in our victory. People who only heard the result maybe thought it was a joke,"
Kiel seemed to lack firepower against a young and courageous team. There were probably few people who believed a result like that can happen.
"We turned down the skepticism and proved that youngsters can take responsibility in key moments," said right wing Gašper Marguč, explaining what proved to be the decisive factor in the 31:28 win.
Sebastian Skube who moved from Koper to Celje could not hide his happiness: "It is the biggest victory in my career.
“I am happy for the team and myself. We were in control for almost the entire sixty minutes. I am aware that Kiel will try to get revenge."
It was only the second win in the competition for Celje. "I might not have expected a win against Kiel but as any sportsmen would, I hoped for a win.
“I told players in the locker room that we have the right to hope. Players from Kiel are humans just like we are," said Skube.
The motivation was obviously enough to inspire the Celje players to pull off the biggest shock of the season.
