Statements on Main Round draw - Video updateAfter the Tuesday´s draw of the Women´s EHF Champions League Main Round groups the club representatives of all participating teams made comments on their groups and their chances to reach semi-finals. @@video=WCLDRAW.flv Group 1 Tamás Szabó, Györi Audi ETO KC: “We are happy we have managed to qualify for the Main Round without losing any points, but we also want to qualify to the semi-finals. Obviously, we are going to meet with very strong opponents, but I think we have a good chance in this group to reach the semi-finals. The first match will be very nice, since we are going to meet Budućnost, who we played against in the last season´s final.“ Bernt Thomassen, Larvik: “We have already reached the first goal by making it through to the Main Round. Concerning our group It will be very nice to meet Györ again and we are also glad, we are going to play Randers, because it is very close to Larvik. It is a tough group, but we are looking forward to these games and hoping it will bring a lot of spectators to Larvik Arena.“ Predrag Bošković, Budućnost: “We have fullfilled the aim to play the Main Round and can play six more interesting matches. When Cvijić and Georgievska recover from their injuries I hope we will have a good chance to make life very difficult to all our opponents.“
Henrik Mortensen, Randers HK: “I think there are a lot of favourites in our group. We will have to play against the winners of last two seasons and the last season´s runners-up. All three teams are very, very good and it will be a tough group. Nicolae Luca, Oltchim Vâlcea: “This group is OK for us. When I came here for the draw, I was considering this group as the best out of three possible options. We put really everything to win the trophy this season. We know it is going to be difficult and it is a long way, but we want to win this season.“ Tone Tiselj, RK Krim Mercator Ljubljana: “When we started this season the situation with injuries was the worst in my whole handball career. Therefore I am very satisfied we came to this round and still have the chance to fight for the title. Our group is very interesting, there are four strong teams, but the biggest favourite is Oltchim, they have on each position not two, but maybe three excellent players.“ Beatrix Koként, FTC Rail Cargo Hungaria: “We are satisfied with our group and opponents. It could have been worse. We can be happy and our fans as well. It is a very strong group, but we will do everything to finish on one of the first two places and reach the semi-finals.“
Nikolai Kaveshnikov, Zvezda Zvenigorod: “All clubs in our group have experienced teams and all of them are wishing the same – to win the Champions League. We will try to finish on the first or the second position and qualify for the semi-finals. We have started to write the history in the Russian handball with the project with first ever international coaches and players and we will see how successful we can be in the Main Round.“ TEXT: EHF / br |
