Henrik Toft Hansen joins HamburgDanish international Henrik Toft Hansen is joining HSV Handball Hamburg after this season. A three year contract between the 25 year old line player from Danish top club Bjerringbro-Silkeborg and the Bundesliga club was officially announced Friday, and Toft is looking forward to his new handball life. “For a long time I have been keen on playing in the Bundesliga. I chose Hamburg, because I wanted to play for top club in Germany, and that is what I find Hamburg to be,” Henrik Toft Hansen told the Danish TV and radio station DR. In HSV he will be joining his national team-mate Hans Lindberg, and that is another thing, Toft Hansen is looking forward to. “It is always nice to know someone who knows how things are being done. He has only spoken positive about the club, and I have also consulted him before making my decision,” Henrik Toft Hansen said. In Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, head coach Carsten Albrektsen regrets losing an important player. “We would like to have kept Henrik Toft a bit longer, but he has chosen to make use of a clause in his contract, and even though we are annoyed to lose a good player, we respect his decision,” Albrektsen said.
