EHF Court of Handball disciplinary decision

The EHF Court of Handball has released a decision following legal proceedings opened against the National Handball Federation of Montenegro for the infringement of their obligation to maintain good order and security at all times during the Men’s EHF EURO 2014 Qualification Phase 2 match (Round2): MNE Montenegro vs. CZE Czech Republic, hosted in SC Topolica, Bar, Montenegro on November 4, 2012.

Indeed, at the 21:30 min of the match, spectators lighted and threw hazardous objects which exploded on the playing court.

Pursuant to article B.4 of the EHF List of Penalties and article 5 of the Catalogue of Penalties related to the EHF Rules on Safety and Security,  the Handball Federation of Montenegro is fined 15,000€, a third of the fine is imposed on a suspended basis.

Furthermore, an EHF security delegate shall be nominated by the EHF for the two next Men’s EHF EURO 2014 Qualification Phase home matches of the Montenegrin national team.

The related costs and expenses shall be borne by the National Handball Federation of Montenegro.        

The federation has the right to appeal to the Court of Appeal within seven days.
