Zácsik and Cifra commit to three more years
Szandra Zácsik and Anita Cifra, members of the Hungarian national team have extended their contracts with FTC Rail Cargo Hungaria by three years.
Left back Zácsik, who is currently recovering from a shoulder operation and played only three Women’s EHF Champions League games this season, has proven her commitment to the club with the long term contract.
"The community is excellent, our team is young, and now we are participating in the Champions League. It was easy to make a deal because we both had the same target, to stay in the club. I would not sign with any other Hungarian club," said Zácsik.
23 year-old line player Anita Cifra, who scored 10 goals so far in this season’s Women’s EHF Champions League, joined FTC in 2011 and has decided to stay because of the positive atmosphere in the team.
“This last one and a half years were very nice to me. I think I am in a very good place and I took a liking to the team and my teammates.
“We are doing nice work and we are also successful. I like Budapest and I am happy that I can stay here, I must say I did not think it would work so well.
“It really means a lot that I am feeling great here. I like to come to trainings and I like what I do, which is why I have developed a lot in the club," explained Cifra.
There are some other players whose contracts expire at the end of the season, such as; Dóra Deáki, Mónika Kovacsicz, and Melinda Pastrovics, all of whom are currently in negotiations with the club's management.
Meanwhile, the name sponsor of the club, Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt., has also extended their contract with the club for another year.
FTC Rail Cargo Hungaria begin their Women's EHF Champions Legaue Main Round campaign against Oltchim Rm. Valcea on Sunday 3 February and can be viewed live on ehfTV.com from 18:00 CET.
