Sara Breistøl ends careerAt the age of 30, left winger Sara Breistøl from Larvik HK has announced that she is going to end her career after this season. After 13 successive years by Larvik, Sara Breistøl has decided to call it a day, when the current season comes to an end.
The technically skilled left winger joined Larvik at the age of 18 from Sandefjord TIF, and in spite of several injury breaks she has played 375 league matches for the Norwegian top team so far and scored 574 goals. “Unfortunately she has had some serious injuries which have stopped her from getting the most of her potential. Technically she can do almost everything, and she is probably the player who has had the most spectacular shooting repertoire in the club”, Gjekstad added. So far Sara Breistøl has scored ten goals in the EHF Women´s Champions League this season – only two from her personal record from the 2006/07 season. TEXT: Peter Bruun / br |
