The dream of winning the EHF Women´s Champions League drives Brazilian goalkeeper Chana Masson from Randers HK to Danish league rivals Viborg HK.

After five years in Randers HK, 34 year old Brazilian national team goalkeeper Chana Masson is going to leave the ruling Danish champions after this season. In stead, the experienced shot-stopper will be joining former three times Champions League winners Viborg HK on a three year contract.

“It has always been a dream for me to play in Viborg. In Brazil, Viborg has always been regarded as a big club who won a lot of titles.

"I also consider myself to be a winning player who works and trains hard too, and therefore I would like to play in the best possible team. I have been extremely happy with my five years in Randers, but right now I feel that Viborg can provide me with a better challenge,” Chana Masson said in an official statement.

“I am not that young anymore, and the only title I still miss to win is the Champions League. I hope and believe that this dream can come true in Viborg, if we all help each other. I hope that people in Viborg will like me.

"I am a rather special player who play a lot with my emotions. I am going to do that in Viborg too, and I hope that we can take the club to new heights together,” she added.

“Chana Masson is a real minister of defence when she stands in the goal,” Viborg´s sports director Susanne Munk Wilbek said, as the contract with the Brazilian star was a fact.

“She is a leader who takes the responsibility upon her, and who has her ideas as to how things should be done. She is a colorful and temperamental goalkeeper who is extremely determined, but who also likes to experiment,” Susanne Munk Wilbek added.

Before joining Randers, Chana Masson had a career in Spain as well as in Germany. She has represented Brazil at four Olympics.

At the 2011 World Championship in her home country she was awarded best goalkeeper of the tournament.
